LOS ANGELES (CBS/AP) — Two people have died in the custody of Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies.

A woman being held at the sheriff’s station in Valencia died at about 12:10 p.m. Saturday, officials said.

The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Jenna Coleman.

She was reportedly found in her cell, unresponsive. LA County Fire Paramedics were called to the facility.

Coleman was declared dead at the scene.  The cause of death is to be determined by LA County Coroner personnel.

Authorities said Coleman was arrested on Thursday for possession of a controlled substance and was being held on $10,000 bail.

In Lancaster, a man died after he was handcuffed and placed in the back of a sheriff’s patrol car.

Deputies took the man into custody around 4 a.m. Friday after responding to a disturbing the peace call in the 40500 block of 163rd Street East.

The man was reportedly acting bizarrely. Officials said when they arrived on scene, the man was running water from a garden hose and yelling at people inside the house.

Deputy Peter Gomez says deputies suspected the man was on drugs. After the suspect was subdued, Gomez says the man tried to kick out patrol car windows and then went unconscious after a brief struggle.

CPR was performed but he died at the scene. His name hasn’t been released.
